The same action is not apparent in other MS office applications eg Outlook. Is this a known bug? Is there a workaround or hotfix? I tried this in A, but can't reproduce what you describe.
Neither can I find something that looks like "All. Are you talking about the navigation pane and just dragging the vertical border so that the nav pane shrinks? First hit the F11 button and then you have the possibility to resize your navigation pane to normal again. I was driven crazy, I reinstalled both access and the office several times but the problem was still there until I saw your sulotion I can't drag the condensed navigation pane open.
I can only double-click on it, and it remains unsizable. What worked for me was to create an new db, then import all the tables, queries, forms, etc from the other one. Be sure to compress it afterwards. I am using Access F11 only exposes and hides the Navigation Pane. With the Navigation Pane in view I was never able to make the little left-right expansion arrow appear using the mouse, which would have allowed me to expand the pane.
I tried the following: Held down the Shift key while opening the database. I was pleasantly surprised to see a wider right margin on the Navigation Pane which I was able to "grab" with the mouse and expand.
Problem solved. THIS was my savior. Everyone else's F11 and whatever else didn't work for me, I couldn't get the double arrow expander to show.
